Middle School Race Team

  • The middle school race team practices three to five days a week (Not Sundays) from after Thanksgiving to mid March

  • This program is for middle school (6th to 8th grade) athletes with a focus on training, skills, racing, and fun. Skiers should have some experience nordic skiing or a strong background in alpine skiing. Never-ever nordic skiers in 6th to 8th grade should choose the Youth Development Team rather than this program. 

  • Skiers are expected to participate in a number of nordic races throughout the season.

  • Skiers should skate skis, poles, and boots and waxable (not fish scales) classic skis, poles and boots. These may be rented from Cloud City Mountain Sports for $100 for the season.  

  • Cost: $100 to Cloud City Mountain Sports (There is no separate sports fee for LCHS. CCMS will then pay the school district the appropriate sports fee)

  • All athletes must both apply with CCMS and fill out the appropriate paperwork for Lake County High School.
